8 July 2026, 4:00 PM - The Samoa Audit Office welcomed Ms Kitty Finau, Financial Management Specialist from ADB Suva, for a constructive capacity-development session.

Highlights:

• Training priorities: practical workshops on digital audit tools and methodologies to improve data analytics, remote auditing, and audit management systems.
• Performance and climate audits: approaches for integrating climate-related risks into performance audits and developing new audit criteria and evidence-gathering methods.
• Emerging issues: discussion of recent  institutional changes that may affect audit mandates and operations, and strategies to adapt our audit processes.
• Partnerships: explored opportunities for collaboration with ADB and other development partners to support training, technical assistance, and pilot projects.
• Next steps: schedule of follow-up trainings, piloting of selected digital tools, and work to formalise cooperation agreements.
