Following a productive PASAI workshop for financial auditors, the Samoa Audit Office (SAO) successfully hosted a two-day Twinning Program in collaboration with the Office of the Auditor-General New Zealand (OAG NZ) and the Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI). Led by Ms. Sarah Bunning (OAG NZ) and Ms. Susana Laulu (PASAI), this initiative focused on providing high-level technical assistance to enhance the quality of financial reporting and strengthen institutional integrity.

During the program, Ms. Bunning provided expert guidance to the Ministry & Public Accounts (MPPA) team in reviewing the Public Accounts and the SAO’s own financial and performance statements, ensuring alignment with international best practices. These sessions also prioritized the IntoSAINT integrity framework and offered cross-unit support to streamline auditing processes. This hands-on collaboration directly contributes to the professional development of our staff and the overall efficiency of our operations.

The Samoa Audit Office extends its sincere Faafetai tele lava to OAG NZ and PASAI for their steadfast partnership and expert guidance. This collaboration is a testament to our strong regional cooperation, ensuring the SAO continues to deliver high-quality audits that promote transparency, accountability, and good governance.
