Last week, we celebrated Auditor Proud Day, an event celebrated by the international auditing community on the last Thursday of September. This year, we used this opportunity to spotlight our auditors' academic and professional achievements made possible under the vision and leadership of the CAG Fuimaono Papalii CG Afele.
Auditor Proud Day is about celebrating the important role of auditors in society and an occasion to recognize and honor the hard work and dedication of auditors worldwide. Our auditors' efforts and successes showcase their dedication, expertise, and commitment to our profession. Their enhanced capabilities also empower them to conduct quality audits that drive positive improvements in Government.
Auditor Proud Day also served as a reminder of our Vision:
To be a leader in delivering independent public sector audit services and promoting improvement in public sector administration.
Le susuga i le faletua ia Sarai Luatua, who is also a Principal Auditor in our office, led us in a small devotion to mark the occasion, imparting inspiring words of wisdom and faithful advice.
In commemorating this year's Auditor Proud Day, we also extend our appreciation to the local audit partners we work with to conduct our many audits.
We would also like to express our deepest gratitude to the incredible donors and partners who have helped us significantly. This includes the various sponsors for the post-graduate programs our auditors have undertaken, as well as the national, regional, and international associations that continue to provide ongoing trainings and workshops:
- Asia Development Bank
- Association of Certified Fraud Examiners
- Australia DFAT and the Tautai Partnership
- Government of the People's Republic of China, and China National Audit Office
- INTOSAI and IDI
- New Zealand DFAT
- Office of the Auditor General India
- Office of the Auditor General Malaysia
- Office of the Auditor General New Zealand
- Samoa Institute of Accountants
- World Bank
Finally, we extend our most important faafetai tele lava to our Government of Samoa for their unwavering support.
We are very thankful for the collaborative efforts of these organizations that enable us to uphold the highest standards in auditing, and especially in line with yesterday's Public Service Day 2023, contribute positively to our public sector.
