Courtesy meeting with UNDP Resident Representative and Deputy

Earlier this month we were honored to host a courtesy meeting with the new Resident Representative in UNDP Samoa, Ms. Aliona Niculita, and the Deputy Representative, Ms. Verena Linneweber.

SAO's Participation in the 7th INTOSAI Working Group on Big Data Meeting

The 7th INTOSAI Working Group on Big Data Meeting, held in Cairo, Egypt from September 13th to 15th, 2023, brought together SAIs from around the world to address the challenges and opportunities presented by the era of big data. Audit Director Ah Siu Lin attended as the Samoa Audit Office delegate.

Auditor Proud Day 2023

Last week, we celebrated Auditor Proud Day, an event celebrated by the international auditing community on the last Thursday of September. This year, we used this opportunity to spotlight our auditors' academic and professional achievements made possible under the vision and leadership of the CAG Fuimaono Papalii CG Afele.

The Samoa Audit Office joined the Ministry for Customs & Revenue and the Public Trust Office for their Ministerial portfolio in their last government prayer service together before the end of the year on Wednesday, 02 November 2022 at the Government Prayer House in Palisi.

Susuga Namulauulu Apelu Ioasa (MCR) led the service with his sermon based on the bible reading, taken from the First Samuel 30: 1-8. The bible reading reflected on when God gave David a complete victory because he strengthened himself in the LORD his God was befitting for all the public servants as we face challenges each day and moving towards the end of this year. Representing the Samoa Audit Office in the service proceedings was Audit Director of the Performance & Environmental Audit Unit, Oceanbaby Penitito.

The event was attended by the Honorable Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Customs and Revenue, Hon. Tuala Tevaga Iosefo Ponifasio, Associate Minister Hon. Masinalupe Makesi Masinalupe, Deputy Speaker and other government officials.
