Several Samoa Audit Office members participated in a two-day report writing workshop hosted by PASAI, which wrapped up on Friday (4 December 2020).

The report writing workshop followed on from the PASAI Secretariat's October and November 2020 online communications programme on Strategy and Implementation.

Designed to support SAI (Supreme Audit Institution) participants to improve their writing skills and communicate more effectively, SAO members gained valuable understanding of the main principles of the writing process and insight on best practice guidance from the Office of the Auditor-General, New Zealand.

SAIs provide Parliament and the public with information on the government's ability to manage public resources. Effective written communication is therefore critical and is an important responsibility of a SAI. Quality reports provide correct and accurate information, is understandable for readers, and allow readers to act on important issues and influence positive changes.

SAIs from all over the Pacific region also participated alongside the Samoa Audit Office.
