Despite the Covid-19 pandemic currently affecting the world; two staff members of SAO did not give in, but continued their studies in China.

And after two years of hard work, Miss Afulilo Leao Tuitama and Mr Faamaile Latu of Samoa Audit Office (SAO) both graduated with Masters of Auditing from the Nanjing Audit University, China in June 2020.

Afulilo and Faamaile started their studies back in 2018. 

Since 2016, scholarship(s) were made available by the government of China for SAO staff under a Memorandum of Understanding between the Controller and Auditor General of Samoa and the China National Audit Office (CNAO) to undertake a two year Masters degree in Auditing at the prestigious Nanjing Audit University. This initiative as initiated by the Controller and Auditor General is also a contribution towards the professionalisation programme of the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) and Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (PASAI) that is currently underway.

As of today, a total of five (5) staff members of SAO have graduated with Masters in Auditing from the Nanjing Audit University.
