Members of the Auditors and Examiners Forum (AEF) celebrated World Oceans Day on Saturday, 8th June by picking up rubbish along the Matareva Beach Fales in Lefaga.

It is a global celebration to acknowledge the major role our ocean plays in our everyday life. It is our source of food, oxygen, climate regulation, medicine and more. In 2008, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution officially recognizing June 8th to be "World Oceans Day" to honor and protect our ocean. It reflects Sustainable Development Goal 14 (Life Below Water)  to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development. World Oceans Day was a great opportunity for AEF to take personal and community action to conserve the ocean and its resources.

Happy World Oceans Day Samoa!
