Last week, we celebrated Auditor Proud Day, an event celebrated by the international auditing community on the last Thursday of September. This year, we used this opportunity to spotlight our auditors' academic and professional achievements made possible under the vision and leadership of the CAG Fuimaono Papalii CG Afele.

Scholarships for Study in China

We are delighted to announce that two outstanding members of SAO have been awarded prestigious scholarships to study for their Masters in Government Auditing degrees at the Nanjing Audit University (NAU) in China.

In preparation for the 57th Independence of Samoa, the whole of Government came together on Saturday 25th May 2019 to help clean up the town area. Samoa Audit Office staff gathered at Sogi as the sun rose at 6am with rubber gloves and brooms. This event took two hours to pick up rubbish of all types, shapes and sizes as well as sweeping of their allocated part of the seawall.

The 57th Independence of Samoa will commence on Friday 31st May 2019 with a thanksgiving service to be held at the Immaculate Conception of Mary Cathedral at Mulivai. Following a flag raising ceremony on Saturday 1st June 2019 at Malae o Tiafau, Mulinu'u.
