Morina, Director of IT Audit attended the 28th Meeting of the Working Group for Information Technology Audit (WGITA) from 2nd to 3rd April 2019 and the Performance Audit Seminar (PAS) Meeting from 4th to 5th April 2019 held in Nadi, Fiji. Samoa has become the 49th member of the INTOSAI Working Group on IT Audit (WGITA).
The Working Group was created to support Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) members develop their knowledge and skills in the use and audit of Information Technology. The meeting enabled SAI member countries to understand their current situation and how to overcome challenges they may encounter as well as how to improve conducting of IT Audit and remain relevant in their own SAI. Discussions also involved ways to improve quality, efficiency and timeliness of audits that will be endorsed in the upcoming 2019 INCOSAI meeting. National security, Big Data, ICT and National Integrity play a vital role in the linkage for sustainability of SAI countries including Samoa that is line with our key goals in our Strategic Plan to improve the quality, efficiency and timeliness of our audits as well as to strengthen our communication and relationships with our stakeholders.
